We are related, honest! My father's mother's name was Sanderson. Her father was Alexander Sanderson, born in the Shetlands. I think he may have been a priest. My father, Hugh McKinnon Wood, was born in London to the Right Hon. Thomas McKinnon Wood. I was born in Geneva, Switzerland.
Hope to hear from you.

Thanks for the comment, Jacqui. Whereas some people appear to sail through life without any mishaps, some of the rest of us have to deal with problem upon problem and that we survive despite them means that we must be pretty strong in the first place, doesn't it?

I think you made the correct decision in the circumstances. Writing this must have been hard and I hope it has helped. I too have written my Autobiography and it isn't a nice twee happy tale. I was sectioned too at the age of 16 and left in the 'nut house' till after my 18th Birthday when I walked out and new I couldn't be forcded to return.I was then lucky to be able to take charge of my life and make my own decisions.

I am from Saskatchewan, Canada and my grandmothers sister was Florence(Grundy) Roscoe. I am certain from the information you have that we are talking about the same Roscoe/Grundy people. I look forward to hearing from you.

Well, I looked for the book but I couldn't find it! How frustrating. I'll remember to keep an eye out for it and will post the info when I see it again.

A minor correction: Back in 1841, Marylebone would, I think, have been on the western edge of London, not the centre. I have some information about Marylebone in an interesting book (the name of which I cannot recall right now!). I'll find it and post it.

> However, I very much enjoyed “Divided Kingdom“ by Rupert Thomson
> and sent a copy of it to a friend when he was in hospital

And very good it was too! A somewhat disturbing read, but engrossing. Perhaps it was disturbing because I could imagine the 'divided kingdom' actually appealing to certain bureaucrats and politicians...
